Bourbon Barrel Aged Quad starts with Funkwerks’ Belgian-style Quadrupel, which is inspired by the Trappist breweries of Belgium. Aging in oak bourbon barrels for eight months allows the unique flavors from the barrels to meld with the base beer. A spicy oak aroma leads to flavors of caramel and malt balanced by fruit notes from the house yeast strain. Hints of bourbon lead to a dry finish that makes this the perfect beer to enjoy on a cold winter evening.
