Kentucky Pelican: Inspired by the mixed drink of a similar name, Kentucky Pelican takes aspects of those ingredients and turns them into a drinkable and refreshing strong ale. American strong ale aged in bourbon barrels, dry hopped with Mandarina Bavaria and Dry Spiced with ginger and lime.
Appearance: Deep copper to amber color, off white head.
Aroma: Fresh ginger, bright lime-citrus, very subtle hint of mint.
Mouthfeel: Well carbonated, fully coats the palate, spec’d at 2.65 vols, alcohol content noticeable.
Flavor: Bready and slightly toasty with an earthy hop profile backed by the spice of ginger. Mild notes of bourbon, vanilla and ethanol in the finish.
Overall: Good drinkability, smooth with a slightly warming finish. The spice from the ginger and the acidity of the lime cut through the malty body to provide a refreshing take on the mule cocktail.
