Saw Works Pale Ale

Brewed by Saw Works Brewing Company

Ordinary Bitter5.4% ABV

The flagship brew of Saw Works is an English Pale Ale with enough hops to satisfy an American palate. It has a malty profile and just enough woody or lightly floral hops for balance. It is a great session beer.

Pale Ale has a moderate to medium-high hoppy flavor and aroma. Often a malt or caramel flavor and aroma is present, with a slight alcoholic warmth. The hops should balance the caramel and malt flavor at a minimum, though many examples have a slightly hoppy balance.

The body of a Pale Ale is medium to full, and carbonation is generally low except for some bottled commercial or export ales. The finish is generally dry with no secondary malt flavors, and no diceytl. Fruity esters, often a byproduct yeast, is often present.

The English Pale Ale can be traced back to the city of Burton-upon-Trent, a city with an abundance of rich hard water. This hard water helps with the clarity as well as enhancing the hop bitterness. This ale can be from golden to reddish amber in color with generally a good head retention. A mix of fruity, hoppy, earthy, buttery and malty aromas and flavors can be found.

Pours an awesome copper color with nice head that retains very well. In other words, this beer is sexy.
