Señor Viejo Imperial Black Lager by Twisted X Brewing Company is a Schwarzbier that has been "imperialized" by our crew, which means that the alcohol content is increased. After imperialization, the beer is left to age in 10-gallon barrels that once housed the very fine Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Hye, TX). That’s not all: once Garrison Brothers has finished with them, the barrels are then used to age and add a certain character to beloved Austin-based Dulce Vida Organic Tequila for their signature Limited Lone Star Edition Añejo tequila. This totally unique aging process imparts what could be scientifically termed the true Tex Mex Beer™ distinction. The combination of whiskey and tequila subtleties impart hints of vanilla and oak combined with the softening qualities of agave sweetness. At 8.2% alcohol by volume Señor Viejo is our strongest, most seasoned beer.
