This beer pours a rich copper color. It is topped with a dense off-white foamy head. The aroma on this beer is all hops dominated by citrus fruits especially orange and grapefruit. You can also find some nice tropical fruit notes of pineapple and mango. The flavor on this beer is surprisingly malty for an IPA. There is a golden raisin and toffee sweetness that gives way to a pleasant lingering bitterness and a dry finish. The hop flavors are dominant as expected from the aroma reinforcing the citrus, tropical fruit and piney characters you expect in an IPA. This one is not a resiny as some of the bigger IPAs out there which makes it more approachable.
This beer would pair well with salty snacks, Indian curries, Traditional Mexican food or even a spiced carrot cake.
