Every beer has a story...
Saison is a complex pale ale traditionally brewed in the winter for consumption in the hot, summer months. Brewing in the winter gave farmers something to do with their time, and by the time the ale was ready in the summer, it was available for thirsty workers when water was a commodity and typically not safe to drink; hence the pseudonym "farmhouse ale."
