Black Kettle Chocolate Stout is made with roasted barley and chocolate malt, as well as a heaping amount of cocoa powder, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and cinnamon sticks added to the kettle. It pours the color of onyx, and is topped with a fluffy, tan head. The aroma is reminiscent of roasted espresso beans and decedent chocolate, with a tinge of cinnamon spice. A throwback to our original recipe, Black Kettle Chocolate Stout leaves you in peace with a pleasant, lingering sweetness.

Flavor: Creamy milk chocolate, fudge, cinnamon spice, and a hint of vanilla.
Clarity: Pours opaque and onyx-black, with a silky, tan head.
Aroma: Decedent chocolates, roasted espresso beans, and cinnamon spice.

Food Pairing: Highlights the nuttiness and braised, caramelized integrity of dishes with brown, savory sauces; complements silky, salty foods like oysters on the half shell

Hops: Galena, Mount Hood, Hallertau

Grains/Adjuncts: Maris Otter, Munich 10L, Chocolate Malt, Carapils, Biscuit, De-Bittered Black Malt, Roasted Barley

Yeast: British Ale

8 Maids-a-Milking is the 8th beer in our “12 Days of Christmas” series, and we’d be udderly crazy to release anything but a milk stout. So we made an imperial milk stout to stand up to whatever Old Man Winter throws our way from now through 2019 with the final release of our series. 8 Maids-a-Milking is brewed with lactose, which is commonly referred to as milk sugar. It’s the only type of sugar that is unfermentable by yeast, which adds more perceptible creaminess and sweetness to the finished
