Crossroads Brewing Company Carol Anne's Pumpkin Pale Ale

Carol Anne (name after the little girl from “Poltergeist”) is a medium bodied pale ale with pumpkin and traditional spices. Over 40 lbs of local sugar pumpkins were added to the mash, adding body to the bready maris otter and crystal that are the backbone of this beer. In addition to the subtle flavor of the pumpkin, a custom blend of cinnamon, ginger, clove, and allspice were added during the boil to lend a noticeable spicy aroma and flavor reminiscent of fresh pumpkin pie. Chinook & Ahtanum hops add a slight spicy aroma and bitterness. Finally, a small addition of lactose sugar helps the beer finish smooth. Overall, look for a medium bodied and drinkable spicy pumpkin pale ale.
