Figueroa Mountain Buddhankadonk

Brewed in collaboration with Island brewing from Carpenteria, Buddhankadonk utilizes two uncommon forms of citrus to help supplement great American hop character. Buddha’s hand is a citrus from South-East Asia which adds aromas and flavors of tropical lemons. Oddly shaped with strange tendril like appendages this citrus varietal is challenging to work with. It contains no edible flesh unlike other forms of citrus. In addition to Buddha’s Hand, we paired up with a citrus farmer in Santa Paula to use a Grapefruit/Pommelo hybrid known as Oros Blancos. It lends supplemental grapefruit aroma/flavor to help round out the citrus profile. Piney, Herbal, and citrus aromas come from Simcoe, Jarrylo, and El Dorado hops. The malt character is simple with subtle aromas of fresh bread and light toast. The beer clocks in at 7% ABV so be careful to not get too enlightened, you may end up on your buddhankadonk!
