This rich, malty, strong ale is a throw back to the great beers made popular in Burton on Trent, England many years ago. Burton on Trent is widely known as the birthplace of the India Pale Ale.
The Burton ale was a strong ale that predated the IPA and was widely exported and prized by royalty. The "XX" means this is the un-aged or Mild variant of this style.
