Horse & Dragon Spruce It Up! Amber Ale

Made to celebrate American Craft Beer Week, Spruce it Up! Amber features fresh Colorado spruce tips, local burnt honey, and local Troubadour malt. Aromas of sweet caramel, citrusy spruce, and dark berry/cherry begin this flavor experience. The smooth body has a complex toffee and caramel character from the burnt honey along with a distinct fruity spruce character. The beer finishes with a slight but balanced bitterness and a lingering flavor of spruce and spices. Spruce It Up! is a 2016 FoCo Collab Beer. This year’s brewing team at H&D included Equinox, FCB, New Belgium, Rally King, and Zwei. 5 other collab beers were also brewed around town, with 19 breweries participating. All brewed to celebrate local ingredients and took inspiration from local poet Bob Komines’s work, “Not About Improvements.” ABV: 5.5%
