Traditional Oktoberfest was a time for German brewers to empty their barrels of mostly marzen "March" beer before winter lager brewing season. Today in Germany Oktoberfest has mostly festbier which is more of a light lager, helles. Our beer is a hybrid of Munich marzen and pilsen helles.
