Caskmaster Matt brewed the strongest beer we've ever made for his turn in our Foot Men Series. This 10.2% beast is as complex and layered as it is hefty. It's a full-bodied, big malty ale, with lots of toffee and raisin notes. Notes of the wine (the beer was aged on American Oak spirals soaked in Jones von Drehle Old Railroad Red 101) poke through with some oak tannin balancing some of the sweetness.

ABV - 7.2% IBU - 54 SRM - 6.2 The word "Strong" is not on the label per TTB regulations. The style is recognized by GABF and World Beer Cup but TTB will not let us put any word on the label that might appear to promote strength. Nice, dry malt backbone that is perfect for this hoppy Pale Ale. Aroma is resinous, dank, and slightly citric with a touch of pineapple. Aroma is heady enough for an IPA, but the hop bitterness and flavor is definitely in line with a Pale Ale. Citrus dominates with a undercurrent of lychee and fruit, including pineapple. Drinks like it's 5.5% ABV, but it's 7.2% ABV, so be aware.
