We figured the best way to honor a coming-of-age/milestone birthday is with this dark Saison beauty. It's a more mature style of beer, with a rich, dark chestnut color, spicy yeast aroma and notes of dark fruit and toasted marshmallow. Add an extended aging in South American rum barrels, which brings notes of woody vanilla from oak, caramel sweetness, and a complex rum character to the party, and you've got a 21st birthday worth remembering. 22 years, wow, time flies. We remember when the world was like one giant bag of Barley waiting to be mashed. We're Older and wiser now, of course, but no less passionate about crafting truly great beers. And what better way to celebrate our 22nd year on earth than with a specially crafted extra hoppy Double IPA? We used a blend of nine distinct Hop varietals at a ratio of albs per barrel, giving this 9.5% brew strong notes of tropical fruit and resinous pine.

Georgia’s oldest operating craft brewery, Red Brick Brewing Company, and Max Lager’s Wood Fired Grill and Brewery will be pouring their newly released joint venture Atomic Frog at Max Lager’s this Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 320 Peachtree St. NE in time for crowds of Dragon-con attendees and customers to enjoy. “We’re excited to be working with one of our favorite restaurants and breweries and supporting local business with a hoppy lager that has an outstanding flavor,” said Tyler Cates, marketing coordinator for Red Brick. “Atomic Frog’s hop notes of lime zest, mango, guava, and melon play well with the minerality of the lager yeast, and pairing that with bohemian pilsner and carahell malts make it a delicious beer that finishes dry and clocks in at eight percent ABV.” Along with its featured presence at Max Lager, Atomic Frog will be available this winter in 22 oz. bottles.
