The beer took the IPA recipe style that Tyler Brown uses for his incredible American IPA’s and supplanted NZ hops in for American ones. The result is riot of bright citrus, and ripe tropical fruit layered over NZ Pilsner, Munich, and Australian caramel and wheat malts.

Blanc de Houblon is a perfect union of Belgian spice and exotic fruity New Zealand hop character. Blanc de Houblon means the white hop and pays tribute to the beer’s Belgian influence. Blanc de Houblon marries the citrus notes of coriander seed, the striking spice of the Trappist yeast strain that traces its origins to the Westmalle Monastic brewery and the lemony tropical fruit of a cocktail of New Zealand hop varieties to create a strikingly fruity and dangerously drinkable summer IPA.

On handpull. Yellow Eye is our new IPA combining both English and new world influences to create a tropically fruity malty India Pale Ale. We have used an English style malt bill, a combination of NZ grown English variety hops and fruity NZ variety hops with our fruity English yeast strain. The name Yellow Eye comes from the fact that Waikanae is Maori for ‘Waters of the yellow eyed mullet’.
