All of us Craft Beer Enthusiasts rejoice when Russian River Brewing Co. releases Pliny the Younger every year. This pub draft only, VERY limited distribution beer is usually available once a year at select locations -- and this year, we are very excited to announce that Haven Gastropub in Orange will, once again, feature Pliny the Younger!This Sunday, April 6th, from 9 AM to 11 AM, we will have a flight of 3 Russian River IPAs to go with our current brunch menu (yes, we serve breakfast/brunch at 9 AM every weekend, if you didn't know). Beer Brunch Flight:Pliny the Younger Blind Pig Pliny the Elder You'll be able to get a 5oz pour of each of the three in the tasting flight. We will also have Consecration in bottles. We should have plenty of Pliny the Elder to serve full pours throughout the day, but Pliny the Younger will ONLY be available in the flight, and will be limited to one per person. As with every weekend Beer Brunch, we will still have the $3 craft beer on tap as well.Beer Flights with Pliny the Younger will be poured on a first come, first served basis. If there is a line, we will give tickets to the line just before 9 a.m. for the purchase of a beer flight.ABOUT: Pliny the YoungerTriple India Pale AlePliny the Younger, the man, was Pliny the Elder’s nephew and adopted son. They lived nearly 2,000 years ago! Pliny the Elder is our Double IPA, so we felt it was fitting to name our Triple IPA after his son. It is almost a true Triple IPA with triple the amount of hops as a regular I.P.A. That said, it is extremely difficult, time and space consuming, and very expensive to make. And that is why we don’t make it more often! This beer is very full-bodied with tons of hop character in the nose and throughout. It is also deceptively well-balanced and smooth.
