Beer Run GABF presented by Headlands & Friends

On October 6th, opening day of the GABF, a group of runners including brewers and those in the brewing community will run from Boulder to Denver to raise funds and awareness for Pints for Prostates.

Recently I lost a dear friend to cancer. Many of us are effected directly and indirectly by this disease and I felt compelled to do something in the memorey of my friend. Though he did not have prostate cancer, as a brewer Pints for Prostates seemed like a good choice to raise funds and awareness for in John's name. He certainly loved his beer and was a huge supporter of our local beer community here in the Bay Area.

On October 6th, I will be joining a group running from FATE Brewing in Boulder to the Pints for Prostates Brewers Wellness Initiative Fair outside the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. As mentioned above, I will be running to raise funds for Pints for Prostates whose mission is to promote health and preventive wellness awareness to men through their love of beer. One of their main fundraisers is the Rare Beer Festival on October 7th and it is my hope to be able to present Rick Lyke (Founder and prostate cancer survivor) of Pints for Prostates with a $5000 (or more!) check from all of the money raised from Beer Run GABF.

The route we will take is 33+ miles. I'm grateful to the 6 breweries that have signed on to be aid stations - Crystal Springs Brewing, Nighthawk Brewing, Kokopelli Brewing, Odyssey Beer Works, Goldspot Brewing, and Prost Brewing. These breweries will be raising funds throughout the day of the run, so please make a point to stop by if you are in the area and support them on October 6th and throughout the year.
