Charming Disaster Plays The Stomping Ground!

March 26, 2017 1:00PM - 4:00PM at The Stomping Ground

Charming Disaster, a musical duo based in Brooklyn, NY, features indie bandleaders Ellia Bisker of Sweet Soubrette and Jeff Morris of Kotorino. They perform tragi-comic duets about love, death, crime, and the paranormal—exploring in song the various kinds of trouble a couple of people can get into with a ukulele and a guitar. New York Music Daily describes Charming Disaster as "jaunty yet absolutely creepy...menacingly charming.” Their song "Ghost Story" was featured on the hit podcast Welcome To Night Vale, and appears on their debut album, "Love, Crime & Other Trouble," released in 2015.
Bio
Charming Disaster began in 2012 when Ellia Bisker of Sweet Soubrette and Jeff Morris of Kotorino decided to try co-writing a song together. What was originally intended as a one-time experiment in collaboration quickly turned into a fully realized duo project, in which Bisker and Morris have created a series of songs with two voices and a shared narrative vision. The strange and compelling stories that result involve themes and characters like murder, crime, the paranormal, circus acts, carnival performers, con artists, sinister secretaries, and even Egyptian gods.

"Menacingly charming...she’s got the distant femme fatale persona down, dead cold, the perfect foil for Morris’ brooding gypsy and swing-spiked bounces and waltzes. They make a good team." -New York Music Daily
