Forest Beutel at Flagstaff's Green Room-
Forest has been a nationally touring musician since he was 18 years old. Having grown up in the East Coast punk and hardcore scene, Forest is currently based out of Tacoma, Washington where he is the leader of two successful Americana/rock/bluegrass bands (The Barleywine Revue and the Rusty Cleavers) and released his debut solo album in September, 2014. He simultaneously sings, plays the banjo, harmonica, bass drum, and hi-hat. Beutel’s voice blends the high-lonesome sounds of Hank Williams and Townes Van Zandt with baritone vibrations akin to Tom Waits and Johnny Cash. His voice combined with instrumentation creates a sound called the Americana Blues and is great to listen to while dancing, laughing, and drinking with friends.
