Fried Green Tomatoes Dinner

March 28, 2018 6:30PM - 8:30PM at House of Wax

This four-course meal is inspired by the heart of the film and the homespun goodness of the food enjoyed by the women who brought it to life. Vegetarian options will also be offered!

Based on Fannie Flagg's novel FRIED GREEN TOMATOES AT THE WHISTLE STOP CAFE, Brooklyn-born director Jon Avnet's film shifts between two relationships taking place more than half a century apart. In the modern-day storyline, unhappy Alabama housewife Evelyn Couch (Kathy Bates) befriends elderly nursing home resident Ninny Threadgoode (Oscar-nominee Jessica Tandy), who fascinates Evelyn with tales of feisty, tomboyish Idgie Threadgoode (Mary Stuart Masterson) and her deep friendship with Ruth Jamison (Mary-Louise Parker) during the 1920s and 1930s.

The Whistle Stop Cafe was a pivotal fixture in a small town and, in addition to dishing up delectable barbecue, the Cafe's employees cooked up a few major scandals as well.
