Friends of Children of Walla Walla is pleased to announce the Second Annual Friends Festival of Music, presented by Columbia Rural Electric Association "Columbia REA" on Saturday, September 17, 2016.Festivities start at 10 a.m. with a FREE Family Festival, sponsored in part by Banner Bank. The festival will be located at Heritage Park in Walla Walla, the park’s back parking lot and East Spokane St. There will be activities for everyone to enjoy, including interacting with Izzy the Camel, a basketball clinic by Whitman College. Local non-profits and the community will have the opportunity to host a booth in the park during the festival. The FREE Family Festival will go until 3 p.m.An opening reception, sponsored in part by the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Olive Marketplace and Café, with live music by local artist Dean Snyder. Beginning at 7 p.m., community members will be able to enjoy music at eight different venues located throughout downtown Walla Walla. Each venue will feature different performers and a variety of music genres. The venues are sponsored in part by Impress Salon and Locati Cellars Tasting Room.Media Sponsor, KAPP-KVEW Local News has generously donated commercial and social media advertising.
