Our 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Hat Contest will be held on May 7th. Wear you best hat and enter our contest for a chance to win $25 in merchandise. Last year we had a fantasic turnout with many unique and creative hats. We'll have all the usual Derby drinks, like our favorite hand-crafted Mint Julep. Come early for all the pre-derby festivities and watch the race live at 6:34p. We look forward in seeing you and your derby hat!

USA Cycling Masters Championship

Old Nick's welcomes all the participants of the USA Cycling Masters and Para-Cycling Race to Lewisville! We'll be open at 11:00am on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both days we'll have food trucks on our parking lot from noon-4pm. On Tuesday, Food Freaks Food truck will be serving some of their delicious food. In addition, there will be a Seirra Nevada rep on site from 12p - 2p serving samples (ie: no cost) of their beers. We'll have 3 Seirra Nevada beers on tap: Otra Vez, Hop Hunter IPA, Summer Fest and a bottle Pale Ale. Then on Wednesday, Gunny Smitty's Gourmet Hot Dogs will be here serving their oh so very good dogs! So after the race, come on down and see us for a cold beer and some great tasting food. This will be a fun evening of painting hosted by Seann Vicente from StudioSRV. All you do is send Seann a picture of your pet, be it a dog, cat, bird, horse, or practically any other animal and she will create a pencil sketched outline of it prior to the class. Then on June 14, finish your painting at Old Nick's using the supplied 12x16 canvas with your sketched pet and everything you need to finish it including up to 2 hours of instruction. Deep River Tap Takeover

Tonight from 6:00p - 8:00p, Deep River Brewery will be taking over some of our taps to serve you some great tasting beers. Deep River is a local brewery from Clayton, NC and Old Nick's has the distinction of being the furthest western-most pub they serve! On tap from them that evening we'll have Twisted River Wit, Backcountry Black IPA, Double D's Watermelon Lager, and Carpetbagger Double IPA. This is a great opportunity for you to try these delicious beers. Also this evening, we'll be having our weekly pool tournament so come on by, play some pool and enjoy some great beers!About the brewery...The brewery is is a 15bbl, 2 vessel brewhouse designed specifically for Deep River Brewing Co. The brewery is located at 700 W Main St in downtown Clayton, NC and is known as Johnston County's first legal brewery. Johnston County's first legal batch of beer ever made was produced on Feb 28, 2013. The brewery officially opened its doors on April 6, 2013 to a sold out grand opening party with 250 people. The brewery also strives to use locally grown raw materials for the beer whenever possible.

We will be holding a qualifier tournament on June 24, at 7:00p at Old Nick's to see who will represent us. Find a partner then come up to Old Nick's to sign up. Qualifier tournament will be double elimination.We know we have friends/patrons who are really good at this and encourage you to sign up. Last year we didn't win but we sure did have a good time. Call a friend and make plans to come to Old Nick's and compete in our qualifier tournament. It's Tap Takeover Thursday! Fortnight Brewery will be taking over a few of our taps so you can try some of their great tasting beers. This event is from 6:00p - 8:00p and we will most likely have some free stuff to giveaway, like pint glasses. Hope to see you here.Fortnight Brewing Company is a Craft Brewery and Pub located at 1006 SW Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. They reproduce tastes of UK beer styles that some of their partners drank in their native England. Our current core range of English Ale, Porter and ESB use only English grown ingredients and yeast. They also offer a Blonde Ale, Coffee Amber and an IPA that is a fusion of English and American IPA styles. An English IPA and seasonal releases will be available in the near future.

It's summertime so you you what that means... It's time for our annual Cornhole Tournament! We need 2 teams to represent Old Nick's in Lewisville's Town Tournament on Saturday, July 16th. We will be holding a pre-competition event at Old Nick's to see who will represent us. This event can happen on one of four days based on what is best for everyone. Find a partner then come up to Old Nick's to sign up and help us determine what will be the best day for the pre-competition event. It'll be either Sunday, June 12, or Friday June 17, or Friday June 24, or Sunday June 26th. The start time for any of these days will be around 7:00p and will be double elimination.We know we have friends/patrons who are really good at this and encourage you to sign up. Last year we didn't win but we sure did have a good time. Call a buddy and make plans to come over to Old Nick's and compete in our pre-competition event. TOPO Spirits and Brew Tasting - a Chapel Hill Company

Tonight's the night if you're a Carolina Fan! Top of the Hill Brewery and Distillery will be at Old Nick's on Thursday, August 25, from 7:00p - 9:00p for a one-of-a-kind tasting event. Their TOPO Organic Spirits use top quality organic wheat that create their distinctive flavors. This Chapel Hill Brewery and Distillery will be bringing two of their spirits and two of their beers for us to try. The spirits are Vodka and Eight Oak Carolina Whiskey (more about these spirits below). The beers on tap will be Ramshead IPA and another not yet announced. Taste all 4 for $10. You receive one ounce each of the spirits and 5 ozs each of the beers. We'd be happy to make the liquor into drinks for you instead of just a regular shot.
