December 10, 2016 8:00PM - 11:00PM at Nutmeg Brewhouse Burnsville

Ian Alexy is a vivid singer songwriter, and versatile guitarist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He performs with his band Ian Alexy and The Deserters and as a solo artist. He also performs with his brother Teague Alexy in the nationally touring Americana group Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank.
Born in Philadelphia and raised on the Jersey Shore just outside of Atlantic City, Ian Alexy picked up the guitar at age 13 trying to emulate his then heroes Guns N Roses. He soon discovered his biggest influences, Neil Young and Bob Dylan and began singing and writing songs.
An interest in jazz led Ian to Berklee College of music and then to a field semester studying music in West Africa. Ian eventually graduated from Goddard College in Vermont where he studied music and literature.
In 2005 he started Hobo Nephews Of Uncle Frank with his brother Teague Alexy. They have recorded 5 full length records and toured the United States many times over. Their latest critically acclaimed record American Shuffle includes the song Old Number 4 which Ian penned about former NFL quarterback Brett Favre. The song became a national news story upon its release and was covered by CBS Sports, ESPN, and others. The song went viral, racking up 30,000 hits for its online clip in 48 hours.
Ian continues to develop his signature sound and vivid songwriting. He has released 4 records as a solo artist and five with Hobo Nephews Of Uncle Frank.
