Live Music with Jane Plank

May 13, 2017 9:00PM - 11:00PM at Nutmeg Brewhouse Burnsville

Jane Plank grew up in a performing family. At age 12 Jane went to an open call audition for Disney’s “Mighty Ducks” and landed a major role as one of the main characters, the figure skater, Tammy Duncan (Duck # 5). At age 15 Jane made it into an All State Choir where she performed in various venues around the cities. She also landed a minor role as a Christmas Caroler in “Jingle All The Way” when she was 16.

Jane then auditioned for Sound of America where they picked the top singer from each state to sing with an elite group that toured Europe with their All American Choir. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she received a minor in music. Jane was also part of the Nationally Renowned Vocal Jazz Ensemble at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

You may recognize her on the local scene from the Macaroni Grill where she auditioned and was chosen to be the Italian Singer for the diner’s “Singing Italian Arias and Italian Art songs”.

Jane has been writing her own music since 2008. One of Jane’s songs “Restless” was chosen out of 600+ song entries internationally. It will be included on the CD “Indie Music for Life” that goes towards the funding for Cancer Research.

Jane was chosen nationally as one of the new artists for Clear Channel’s NEW! on online new artist page.

Two of her songs have also been played on Satellite radio on “The Bald Guy Show” that is podcast to over 50,000 listeners.

Jane was also a featured artist on FUSE Satellite Radio. She had a 20 minute interview and they played 2 of her songs.

Jane was also a featured guest on TV show/Internet Podcast Just a Show with host Keith King.

She was also chosen in November 2008 as one of MN Artists/Summit Brewery’s top artist. Winning tracks from each contest are selected by panelists from within the music industry. Each week a three-song playlist from the winning submissions will be featured on the mnartists.org and Summit Brewery web sites. Quarterly listening parties at area venues will take place and a compilation CD of music from the yearlong contest will be produced.

Jane has played at local venues such as The Fine Line Music Cafe, 318 Cafe, Acadia Cafe, Lucky’s 13 and Kip’s Irish Pub to name a few.

She can also be seen singing the National Anthem for different sporting events including The St. Paul Saints Baseball Games, County Fairs and NASCAR Races.

Jane also was a top sponsor for Pet Haven of MN’s (a foster-based no kill animal rescue) first annual Tuxes and Tails event. She donated her CD and performed at the gala among Jill Cordes of petstyle.com & HGTV, Mrs. Minnesota, and other local celebrities to help raise money for the homeless cats and dogs.

Fans say that Jane sounds a lot like Eva Cassidy or Fleetwood Mac but in her own unique sound and style. Everybody that hears Jane’s voice either has goose bumps or tears. You can experience this yourself at any of her live performances.
