Mardi Gras Masquerade | A Festival Weekend

Mardi Gras Masquerade, It's a weekend festival marked by the endless cyclone of feathers, costumes, beads and booze whipping through this Friday & Saturday! The venue is decked in Mardi Gras theme and the weekend is dubbed the wildest jamboree for good reason: Droves of partygoers flock to take in the festivities, food, and to leave their mark on yet another River House Event!

The Wearing Of Masks
Masks and other party favors are provided (while supplies last). Masks are an integral part of Mardi Gras culture. Fun Fact: During early Mardi Gras celebrations hundreds of years ago, masks were a way for their wearers to escape class constraints and social demands. Mask wearers could mingle with people of all different classes and could be whomever they desired, at least for a few days.

The Throwing Of Beads
Beads are provided (while supplies last). The tradition of bead throwing goes down with their original colors. The color of the beads was determined by the king of the first daytime Carnival in 1872. He wanted the colors to be royal colors – purple for justice, gold for power and green for faith. The idea was to toss the color to the person who exhibited the color’s meaning. In modern day, of course there’s the occasional boob.

Respectfully Crowned The Kings of the Carnival “2017” ~ We kick the weekend party off with JusSpinz and special guest djBackdraft (Friday 24th @10pm)

The party continues with djHerk and special guest djDomino "Up the pike from Philly" (Saturday 25th @10pm)

We’re gettin the party LIT with Hip Hop, Dance, Contemporary R&B, Rap, EDM, Twerk, Trap, and Old School Bangers! Ya better tell somebody!
