From 6:00pm to 8:00pm on November 5th in the Biergarten at Ornery Beer Company & Public House, members of the P-Nats front office team will be on hand to greet Nationals fans and ring in the club’s Movember fundraising efforts with a host of benefits for their guests. All P-Nats fans in attendance at Ornery Beer Company will receive a $10 discount coupon to the National Mall Team Store at Pfitzner Stadium, and all attendees will be entered into a raffle for autographed baseballs and P-Nats bobbleheads. Fans who purchase 2016 P-Nats ticket plans will also be the beneficiary of to-be-determined special added value. Additionally, all guests who use the code, “P-Nats” when placing a food or drink order at Ornery Beer Company will be handed a free ticket voucher for the P-Nats’ 2016 Opening Night at The Pfitz scheduled for Thursday, April 14th when the Nationals take on the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Kansas City Royals) and Ornery Beer Company & Public House will also donate 20% of those sales back to the Potomac Nationals’ Movember fundraising campaign during the two-hour event. During the happy hour, the Nationals will be encouraging friends of the team to donate online to the club’s Movember page and join the team by following this link: http://moteam.co/nationals-mo-bros . The P-Nats will also be accepting cash or check donations that will be sent directly to the Movember Movement. Beginning Friday, November 1st, male members of the Potomac Nationals front office will be sprouting mustaches, or “Mos,” to support Movember, an official global charity rooted in men’s health awareness. The P-Nats’ front office team will grow out their mustaches during the month of November to raise funds for men’s health initiatives and funded programs supported by the Movember Foundation. Meanwhile, female P-Nats staff members will serve as “Mo Sistas” in a support role to their fellow colleagues who will be sporting Mos during Movember. P-Nats fans everywhere are asked to join Team Nationals Mo Bros by growing their own Mos in support of the cause. The P-Nats also encourage fans to register and join the P-Nats’ team online at www.movember.com while sharing the Movember movement with friends and family members, and requesting that they donate to this invaluable men’s health cause. The Potomac Nationals’ Movember participation will last the entire month of November and the front office team will be updating their fan base with images of mustache growth all in the interest of keeping men’s health initiatives at the forefront of conversations through the end of Movember. The goal of Movember is to use the catalyst of Mos to prompt conversations about men’s health issues including prostate and testicular cancer along with mental health challenges. Together, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas’ efforts will culminate in an everlasting positive impact on the overall health of men across the world. Movember’s mustache growing season includes a set of official rules for the P-Nats’ participants to follow including:- Once registered at Movember.com, each Mo Bro must begin the 1st of November with a clean shaven face- For the entire month of “Movember,” each Mo Bro must grow and groom a mustache- There is to be no joining of the Mo to the side burns as that is considered a beard- There is to be no joining of the Mo’s handlebars to the chin as that is considered a goatee- Each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true country gentleman The P-Nats faithful are encouraged to track the progress of the “hairy” tale of the Nationals Mo Bros in the month of Movember on the official social media accounts of the Potomac Nationals including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition, fans may email pictures of their Mos throughout Movember to info@potomacnationals.com or tweet pictures @PNats42. “The Movember Movement has been a hallmark of the Potomac Nationals’ off-season for the past two years and it is our honor to participate once again in this invaluable campaign to support men’s health initiatives. For those of us in the P-Nats’ front office who don’t sport mustaches typically, looking goofy for the month of November is totally worth it for this great cause,” said Potomac Nationals Vice President/General Manager, Josh Olerud. The Potomac Nationals encourage their fan base to help change the face of men’s health by donating to the Movember Movement and joining the crusade themselves by creating their own Movember team! About MovemberAs an official global charity, Movember’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches on men's faces around the world. Through the power of the Mo, vital funds and awareness are raised to combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges. How It WorksMovember encourages men to join the movement by growing a moustache for the 30-days of November. After registering on Movember.com, these generous Mo Bros start the month clean-shaven, then grow and groom their Mo (slang for moustache), asking friends and family to donate to their efforts. With their new moustaches, these Mo Bros bring much needed awareness to men’s health issues by prompting conversations wherever they go.Movember’s not just for men. Mo Sistas are an important part of Movember’s success. Once registered, Mo Sistas raise funds and encourage the men in their lives to get involved. Essentially, Mo Sistas do everything that Mo Bros do, without a Mo. At the end of the month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas celebrate their Movember journey by throwing their own Movember events or attending one of the official Gala Parties held around the world. The Movember EffectGlobally, the funds raised by our Mo Bros and Mo Sistas support world-class men’s health programs that combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges. These programs, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer, staying mentally healthy, living with and beyond mental illness and research to achieve our vision of an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.Movember- A Global MovementSince its humble beginnings in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 3 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate across 21 countries worldwide. Movember is also aware of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas supporting the campaign and men’s health causes in other parts of the world, from Moscow to Rio de Janeiro, and everywhere in between. In 2014, the Movember Foundation was ranked 72nd out of the top 500 NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in the world. Since 2003, 4,746,905 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas have raised $649 million while the Movember Movement has funded 832 men’s health projects over that same duration.
