Play Date Tournament

Are you new in town and looking to make connections? Or on an unapologetic mission to spark some romance? Let Boxcar Bar + Arcade and 1323 R&D match you up for a “Play Date”!

Join us this Valentine’s Day for our “Play Date Tournament”: a no-pressure, fun-filled way to meet and greet with other Raleigh area singles!

The Scoop:
• The event will go down on Wednesday, February 14th (Valentine’s Day) at 8pm
• Register online to guarantee your seat (seats are limited!) at https://theboxcarbar.com/play-date/
• Pre-registered players will check in between 7:15-7:30pm on the event date.
• We’ll open on-site registration before the event, from 7:30-7:45pm, to fill any remaining seats.
• Must be 21+ to participate

Matching:
• After you sign in, we’ll have you place your names in the Valentine’s Day box that corresponds to your category of interest (males/females interested in the opposite gender, males interested in males, females interested in females).
• Participants take turns pulling a card out of the box of their choice to find their matching partner. This process will be repeated at the beginning of each round.
• Any matches that have been previously used get put to the side and the participant will pull cards until a new match is made.
• It’s likely our numbers will be slightly off, based on matching interests. Anyone that is not matched with their category of interest in a round will not only meet a potential new friend, but will have first pick/priority in the next round.

Gaming:
• This will be a 3-round competition, to be played on a selection of arcade game favorites (to be announced at the event).
• Round 1: Couples Round, highest score wins a Prize built for two people.
• Round 2: Double Date Round (teams), highest team score on wins a Prize built for four people.
Round 3: Couples Round, highest score wins a prize built for two people.
• Board games available for play in between rounds.

Winning:
• While we hope everyone walks away with a winning match, we’ll be awarding prizes (TBA) to the winners of each round!

We'll be pouring these special 1323 R&D brews to help fuel your game:
• Get Lucky Irish Stout, 4%
• VIC Secret IPA, 6.3%
• King Imperial Stout, 10%
