Taos Benefit for Standing Rock

December 11, 2016 4:30PM - 9:30PM at Taos Mesa Brewing's Taos Tap Room

UPDATE:
NOTICE: We were all thrilled to hear the following announcement from the Army Corp of Engineers late Sunday, December 4: "The Department of the Army will not approve an easement that would allow the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline to cross under Lake Oahe in North Dakota, the Army's Assistant Secretary for Civil Works announced today." Alternate routes for the DAPL crossing will be explored.

While this is tremendous news, and a true validation of the power of peaceful protest and prayer, we WILL CONTINUE with the Taos Benefit for Standing Rock on Sunday, December 11. There are still jailed Water Protectors and other legal issues to be addressed, as well as expenses still outstanding for the winterizing of the camp (such as yurts, etc). There is also the question of whether DAPL will actually stop drilling. Many in camp believe they may continue in non-compliance, and so intend to remain in camp and vigilant.
We look forward to seeing you Sunday to celebrate this victory and to further support Standing Rock.
