“With a sound that is very reminiscent of a younger, earlier prototype of The Sword’s style, The Infamists put on a great show in the hot and humid basement of J&J’s at this year’s Oaktopia Festival. With a strong mix of original tracks and covers, The Infamists gave a varied set that was entertaining and, frankly, exactly what rock ‘n’ roll is all about. No frills, no BS – rock at its core with good tunes that hit hard when the band needs to and eases off the gas pedal whenever the hell the group wants. In between songs there was a quick, “Hey we’re The Infamists and we want you to have good time” but that was about it. Song, boom. Song, boom. Song, boom. No Bono-esque, mid-show speeches or any of that unnecessary mainstream crap. Just three dudes up there playing music for a crowd of happily drunk college kids – and I know I wouldn't have had the show any other way.”

Monoculture
Monoculture is a Dallas psych rock four-piece. What once started as aimless jams between founders and longtime friends Olan Mijana and Nick Leibold became something with a little more purpose when the two completed a four-track demo while living 300 miles apart. This demo was the catalyst to the two's completion of Monoculture’s full-length, debut album “Heavier Daze.”

Fast forward two years, and Monoculture have added to their original lineup in the form of Jason Trevino on bass and John Valentine on keys. Besides trekking across Texas, the quartet has built a solid home base in Dallas, with opening slots for national acts Mild High Club and People’s Blues of Richmond on their resume.

Their newest tune “Absurd,” a direct follow-up to their debut album, has spun on local Dallas radio and received the acclaim of The Dallas Observer who placed it on its Best Songs of September 2016 list and Central Track who placed it on a Songs of the Week list.

Despite Heavier Daze’s release in only February 2016, Monoculture have already begun work on their sophomore album.

The Gypsy Bravado
New Rocknrolll for today. Once there was a time when musicians were terribly good at their instruments and wrote their own amazing, sophisticated yet catchy songs while traveling the world putting on the shows that you would never forget. That time unfortunately has all but left us thanks to media, record labels, and TV. But there is still hope out there. There is a large scene of musicians craving a rock revival and we are one of them. Together we plan to take back the stages stolen by boy bands, poppy shit and special effects. Stop letting the pop culture tell you what's popular or good and find out for yourself. Decide for yourself. We write music, we rock music, we live music, we bleed music. Rocknroll forever!
