Aged in Whiskey barrels, this barrel aged version meshes the rich chocolates and the coffee-like aromatics with the sweet whiskey nose and drying character of the oak. Slightly behind on the palate are the hops, held in restraint by the wonderfully full mouth-feel and broad flavors brought on by the perfect blend of so many malted barley varieties.
Richly aromatic nose offering an array of fruit (litchi, yellow-fleshed fruit) The creamy palate with its well-integrated tannins is full-bodied, with notes of peach and grapefruit which linger right to the finish, carried along by subtle freshness.
This vintage is characterized by the extremely fruity high notes and great complexity in the aromas. The flavors are well mixed and remind one of fresh grapes with soft fruity tones of citrus, melon, and slight pineapple.
