Carolina Beer Temple is an independently owned and operated craft beer store with a craft beer bar in downtown Matthews, NC. We only carry beers made by breweries that are independently owned. At Carolina Beer Temple, you can shop for great craft beers to take home or sit and enjoy a fresh beer from one of our sixteen constantly rotating taps.
In support of the exciting craft brewing scene taking place in North Carolina, Carolina Beer Temple strives to have the best selection of craft beers made in North Carolina.
Carolina Beer Temple also has one of the finest selections of Belgian ales around. From Belgian abbey and trappist ales, to lambics, Flemish sours and more!
Carolina Beer Temple features a fine selection of craft beers from across the country, with a special focus on rare and hard-to-find beers. We also carry a large selection of meads, as well as some ciders.
While our selection of beers is constantly growing and changing, we currently offer over 450 different craft beers to choose from.

Please join us Saturday, September 23rd at the Carolina Beer Temple when we will be featuring two fantastic IPAs from Revision Brewing (their regular IPA as well as their double IPA " What What") in a mini tap takeover. We'll be pouring mini-flights all day plus we'll have pleny of bottles to-go too! Be sure to join us Saturday, September 23rd for this exciting event!

Join us every Tuesday night for our Carolina Beer Temple Run Club Powered by OrthoCarolina! We have a 1 mile, 3 mile and 5 mile route - people of all skill levels are welcome...walkers too!!! There is no cost to participate in our Run Club! Our route begins at Carolina Beer Temple, winds its way through historic downtown Matthews and then onto the greenway! At the halfway point you return back to Carolina Beer Temple. Free cool water awaits you at the finish and 18 taps with cool beer, cider or mead is available inside. Meet at Carolina Beer Temple a little early - runs begin at 6:45. Every Tuesday one of the lighter beer options on our draft list - such as a Pilsner, Lager or Golden Ale will be at least $1 off. Since we rotate our taps often, the exact beer on special is always something different - but recent options have included Olde Mecklenburg's Capt. Jack Pilsner, Triple C's Golden Boy and White Street's Kolsch! It's always a fun time...you don't want to miss out!

ArtWalk & JazzFest (formerly ArtFest) The Matthews Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a one day event and juried art show on Saturday, September 30th. The event will be held on the Town Green on Matthews Station Street, in Historic Downtown Matthews in front of the Town Hall/Library. ArtWalk & JazzFest offers visitors an opportunity to meet and interact with artists and purchase their artwork. Live jazz entertainment, Senior High School Art Scholarship Exhibit and Competition, a hands-on area for children throughout the day. Plus... there will be a Biergarten in the green space across from the Carolina Beer Temple featuring draughts of various local craft beers! OKTOBERFEST Carolina Beer Temple will be hosting its annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st featuring 3 Oktoberfest-style beers plus 1 pumpkin ale brewed by Carolina breweries. We'll be offering flights too!
