Worm Suicide and the Devil Club (Austin, TX) https://www.facebook.com/wormsuicide Worm Suicide formed in South Texas 1996. Old punk rockers, performed on tons of comps including Samhain tribute records, Misfit compilations, GG Allin compilations. Lots of shows on the record books and good times with East and West Coast touring acts, from punk, to metal, to Oi, to hardcore, we played with them all... Poor Dumb Bastards (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/Poor-Dumb-Bastards-126350582202/ Poor Dumb Bastards were formed in March 1991 by long time hetero life partners and musical collaborators, Mike Porterfield and Byron Dean. The initial interest was to form a band and a sound that captured the twisted and bizarre sense of humor of the two. Drawing on their collective influences and experiences from some of their earlier work, bands like Cretinoid, Plutonium Flatheads and the Byron Weird Group, Mike and Byron created a genre all their own, hence “Texas Drunk Rock” was born. The now legendary live shows and creative duct tape use, has seen the band through some tough times. The death of Guitarist Hunter Ward in 2007 almost put an end to the journey. In 2008 PDB decided to get together and finish the album “Price of Rebellion” a fitting tribute to Hunter. PDB has won three Houston Press band of the year awards and one song of the year in 1997 for the at the time unreleased classic true story of “My Dad Two Whores and a Crackpipe”. Poor Dumb Bastard’s second ever show was opening for Smashing Pumpkins at the now closed Emo’s Houston. Playing with bands like Fear, Killdozer, Joan Jett, Marky Ramone, and many more. This enabled PDB to carve their initials on the bathroom door of the Texas music scene. Through the many years and many lineup changes, these Ill-minded sewer rockers have stayed true to their founding principals. POWER, PERFORMANCE, PERVERSION Screech of Death (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Screech-of-Death/277191009099085 “..the righteously named Screech of Death, a relatively new “midtempo old-school punk” combination of two Texas punk warriors and one L.A. import. The Californian is Lisafer, Screech of Death’s lead singer and bassist, whose impressive rap sheet includes hitches with storied goth-punks 45 Grave, D.I., Nina Hagen and most recently Snapper, which also featured Rikk Agnew of the Adolescents. Joining her is drummer Arthur Hayes, an original member of notorious cornholers the Hickoids as well as The Next and Mystery Date, and a longtime San Antonio scenester who used to book bands at legendary Alamo City dive Tacoland. Although it’s his first band playing guitar, J.R. Delgado’s local punk credentials span notable names like Doomsday Massacre, the Party Owls, Anarchitex and Sugar Shack; he also owned and operated landmark punk/alternative club the Axiom long before east downtown’s so-called “Warehouse District” was trendy.” – Houston Press The Bad Drugs (Houston, TX) http://www.facebook.com/TheBadDrugs Any good time, especially a Rock Revel, would start by taking a pop of The Bad Drugs. Their punk stylings are the perfect outlet for your angst. Come rock with these rebels in the battle against the City of Houston’s unscientific noise ordinance.

The Velostacks (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/pg/Velostacks Motorcycles. Leather. Rock n’ Roll. Vive La Velostacks!!! Although originally starting in 2013, it was 2014 that saw The Velostacks transition from a nearly dead idea to a one of Houston’s hardest working rock n’ roll bands. Following a chance meeting at a motorcycle rally, Curtis W. DeGidio (Chrome Kickers, Chelsea Hotel, The Guillotines) and Donnie Stokes (UGH, Satanic Overlords of Rock n’ Roll) quickly went to work. Houston music scene legend, J.R. Delgado (Sugarshack, Humungos, Screech of Death) was brought aboard on bass guitar, with Arthur Hayes (The Next) jumping in on drums and Richard Crishock (Mister Pink, Texas Mod Crushers, Johnny Rioux and the Seven One Three) rounding out on lead guitar. After playing a fury of shows around Houston and Austin, Dave Ng (Latchkey Kids) was brought aboard to take over drums. Playing many gigs and constantly writing, The Velostacks recorded the “I Live and Die for Rock n’ Roll”, b/w “FU and Your Cocaine & “Brain Dead Cagers” single. As the undisputed kings of motorcycle leather rock n’ roll, The Velostacks, with help of their dedicated fan base ,The Sleazestack Militia, declared their intent of raising Hell and taking names. Late 2015 saw more personnel changes as Curtis moved from rhythm guitar to guitar and lead vocals. Bass duties were picked up by Houston’s rock n’ roll legend Christian "The GFN" Best (The Down and Dirties, Hell City Kings, Whiskey River Revival) and drums passed to Nate Bandor (The Grizzly Band). With this lineup, The Velostacks will be entering the studio in December 2015 to record their first LP “Black Magic & Motor Oil” due out in early 2017. Texas Mod Crushers (Houston, TX) http://texasmodcrushers.com/ Classic American punk rock band whose love of British Motorcycles and Texas Blues clash onstage like Rockers & Mods, Brighton, 1964. Revels (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/revelshtx/ "Born out of the second wave of Houston’s punk scene, each member of Revels has spent the better part of the last 15 years paying their dues in various bands- because living in Hustletown teaches you that there’s no such thing as an overnight success. Seperately cutting their teeth in bands like Upsidedown Kellys, Talk Means Trouble, The Kubricks, No Inbetween, Pathetic Subsistance, and The Slowdown, these guys have come together ready to forge ahead with a classic, straightforward sound that doesn’t mess around. Their debut at SXSW was significant not only because it was their first live show as Revels but they represented their Bayou City home with a powerful performance filled with a pure, unadulterated punk that Austin won’t soon forget. Keep your eyes open for any opportunity to catch them live- you’ll be reminded of what old school punk should be." - Alexis Kidd GFN's Acoustic Sins (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/thegfnsacousticsins/ Originally debuting under the name “Whiskey River Revival” in 2006, Christian (The GFN) Best wanted to delve back into his country roots of New Caney, Texas. Armed with a handful of tales from his younger years and a guitar, he proceeded to “Preach The Gospel” of work, women and whiskey. After 3 years of performances and line-up changes, sharing bills with the likes of Reverend Horton Heat, Asleep At The Wheel, Cross Canadian Ragweed, David Allen Coe, and ZZ Top, the band took an indefinite hiatus. Now, in 2017, he is back, with some new tales to tell… Still waging war on his liver. September 29, 8:00p.m. - 2:00a.m.

The Ex-Optimists (College Station, TX) https://www.facebook.com/theexoptimists/ Pop songs played with guitars plugged into amps turned up way too loud to get over a drummer who hits them too hard, hollered to be heard. A Sundae Drive (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/asundaedrive/ Hearts Of Animals (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/Hearts-of-Animals-291037294544/ There's room for a little bit of everything in HOA, yet the music never feels like a kitchen-sink contrivance. Superb songcraft and a delicate touch allow Mlee to create music that is at once astonishingly heavy and gossamer-light; under her spell, seemingly disparate concepts and styles play nicely with one another. Dense noise provides the perfect foil for power-pop sugar; cheaply effective Casio beats underscore stabbing waves of pseudo-shoegaze psychedelia. Pegstar presents MDC * Speedealer * Texas Massacre

October 6, 8:00p.m. - 2:00a.m.

MDC (Portland, OR) http://www.davedictor.com/mdc MDC (Millions of Dead Cops) is an American punk rock band formed in Austin, Texas in 1981. The band was subsequently based in San Francisco, California, and are currently based in Portland, Oregon. Originally formed as The Stains before changing their name, the band also changed their name to a different initialism of MDC with every new record released. They play fast hardcore punk music espousing far-left sociopolitical ideals, with singer Dave Dictor expressing his animal rights, gay rights, transgender rights, pro-racial equality and anti-capitalist convictions. Formed in late 1970s as The Stains and playing their first gig under this name in August 1980, MDC were one of three pioneering hardcore punk bands in Austin, Texas, in the early '80s, alongside The Dicks and Big Boys. These bands frequently played together and established the Austin hardcore scene. They released one single as the Stains in 1981, featuring a slower version of the future MDC song "John Wayne Was a Nazi" backed with "Born to Die".[1][2] Both songs were later released on the debut MDC album. MDC's singer, Dave Dictor, returned with an entirely new backing line-up in 2000, which included Long Island musicians Matt Van Cura,(bass) Erik Mischo,(guitar) and John Soldo,(Drums). MDC released a new album, Magnus Dominus Corpus, in 2004. They took part in a 25th anniversary world tour in 2005, with an all-original lineup. Following the death of Mikey Donaldson in September 2007, MDC has been touring the U.S. and Europe extensively with the Dictor/Posner/Smith/Schvitz lineup.Recently, the band has been based in Portland, Oregon. Pegstar Presents: Brownout * Money Chicha (all ages, doors 8pm)

October 7, 8:00p.m. - 2:00a.m.

Brownout (Austin, TX) http://brownoutmusic.com/ An 8-piece outfit formed ten years ago by members of Grammy Award-winning Latin revival orchestra Grupo Fantasma, Brownout has evolved into a musical force all its own. After garnering their third Austin Music Award last year, the band has continued to produce music that is unflinchingly progressive, while evoking the classic influences of artists such asWAR, Cymande and Funkadelic. They've performed at events including Bonnaroo, High Sierra Music Festival, Pickathon, FFFFest, Bear Creek Music Festival, Utopia Festival and Pachanga Fest, while regularly touring the U.S. Brownout's also served as a highly in-demand backing band for artists including Prince, Daniel Johnston, GZA and Bernie Worrell. The band released Brownout Presents Brown Sabbath Vol. II on October 28th via Ubiquity Records. The recording-the band's second collection of material by godfathers of metal Black Sabbath-includes reimagined versions of "Fairies Wear Boots," "Snowblind" and "Supernaught." The tracks "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and "Symptom of the Universe" features vocals by Ghostland Observatory's Aaron Behrens. Brownout has released four previous albums including Brownout presents Brown Sabbath (Ubiquity Records 2015) Homenaje (Freestyle Records 2008), Aguilas & Cobras (Six Degrees 2009) and Oozy (Nat Geo 2012). Their latest release, Over the Covers (Fat Beats 2017), was widely acclaimed by critics and heralds the next chapter for the band as it continues to evolve and explore new and funky musical realms. Money Chicha (Austin, TX) http://www.moneychicha.com/ Austin-based psychedelic cumbia band incorporating the sounds of fuzz, reverb and heavy percussion. Debut album "Echo en Mexico" available on Vampisol records. "Listening to Money Chicha feels a bit like taking a hit of acid, downing a couple shots of Tequila, and hopping a plane to 1960s Peru. If that particular combination of drugs and time travel sounds even a little interesting, you owe it to yourself to spend some time with this unique Austin band. Nominally a mildly alcoholic beverage popular with workers across South America, Chicha became synonymous with a distinctive genre of music that mixes the distorted guitar sounds of American psychedelic rock with traditional Colombian cumbia. Now combine that heady brew with a little South Texas swagger and some bruising Latin funk and you’ll get a feel for Money Chicha’s music. Sounds pretty crazy, right? That’s because it is. It’s the kind of music that rewires your brain, awakens your spirit animal, and takes you places you’ve never been." - KUTX 98.9 Austin Saturday October 07, 2017 Pegstar Presents Brownout Money Chicha all ages, doors 8pm Advance:$12.00 Day Of: $15.00 Day Of Box Office: $17.00 Tickets available at: https://www.stubwire.com/event/brownout/rudyards/houston/16112/

6th Annual Laugh in the Face of Breast Cancer Comedy Show

October 12, 7:30p.m. - 2:00a.m.

This year is our 6th Annual Laugh in the Face of Breast Cancer Comedy Show! Each year, more people show and more money is raised and each year I can't thank you enough for your support. I decided to mix it up a little bit this year and I added a magician to the show! The showcase includes Houston comedians Steve Padilla, Timothy Banfield, Steven Lemus and Victor Tran and Houston magician Jamie Salinas! From 2005 to 2011, my mother and I (and others) would walk in Komen's Race for the Cure and as time went on, she became weaker from her cancer and cancer treatments. We went from walking the entire 5k to only doing about a 10 minute walk and turning back around- I would still make her walk through the finish line! In 2011, I thought about the next year and how she will probably be weaker than this year and I don't want her to feel defeated (especially because she never felt defeated!) so I wanted to come up with something she could participate in but not have to anything at all yet somehow have some fun. So in 2012, I started Laugh in the Face of Breast Cancer in 2012. Why not go to a comedy show and laugh? We all need some fun in our lives and while she was fighting cancer with all she had, she still deserved to have fun and Laugh in the Face of Breast Cancer! I'm asking you to share this with anybody and everybody. Last year, a friend told me that she sent it to her company's Philanthropy Group and they sent it to over 500 employees! If you can't attend, please share the email and flyer and donate to the cause. You can use the same link to buy tickets and to donate online. For tickets visit: http://tinyurl.com/pinkpositive2017 As always, thank you for your continued support. Angie lbc

Pegstar Presents Bewitcher

October 15, 8:00p.m. - 2:00a.m.

Bewitcher (Portland, OR) https://bewitcher.bandcamp.com/ Rock ‘n’ roll is the devil’s music, and heavy metal its bastard child. In the 1980s, America’s radical fundamentalist Christian right-wing waged a war against this music, bringing its practitioners and its unholy muse to the forefront of the public consciousness. Over a quarter-century later, the devil’s rock ‘n’ roll is still alive and well, but the war is far from over. And so it came to pass… In the 13th year of Satan’s third millennium, a new force arose to defend the ways of old. BEWITCHER is the ancient black flame of magic, mayhem, freedom, and liberation—burning in blatant opposition to the laughable norms of this modern age. Instead, they look to that bygone era, before its pollution by crybaby emo wimps, when heavy metal—in all its glory—truly represented the tenets upon which it was founded. May your children be corrupted, may your foundations be shaken, may your mundane existences be forever altered, for this spell cannot be broken… Fall and obey! And beware the curse of the BEWITCHER! Divebomb Records is thrilled to present the blackened speed metal of BEWITCHER. Their self-titled debut was produced by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust, Lord Dying, Coliseum) and features 9 tracks sure to appeal to fans of Midnight, Venom, Celtic Frost, Toxic Holocaust and Bathory. Sunday October 15, 2017 Pegstar Presents Bewitcher All ages $10 advance $11 box office doors 8pm, show 9pm Tickets available at: http://www.pegstar.net/event/860278/bewitcher/

Pegstar presents: An Acoustic Evening With The Trashcan Sinatras

October 27, 8:00p.m. - 2:00a.m.

The Trash Can Sinatras (Glasgow, Scotland) http://trashcansinatras.com/ Frank Reader, Paul Livingston and John Douglas from the Trashcan Sinatras will be touring the U.S. as a three-piece acoustic lineup. The bandmates celebrate their 30th anniversary, having formed in Irvine, Scotland in 1987. "I've been in the band for thirty years now," says Livingston. "That's a long time to be in any relationship. It's a good time to take stock, see how far we've come, and think about where we're headed." The All Night with The Trashcan Sinatras acoustic tour begins on Sept 27th in Vienna, VA and continues to New York City, Cleveland, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Nashville and more. Tour dates below - more dates to come! The shows will consist of two unique sets (excluding the NYC date) and fans can expect to hear some covers, too. Although the band often delves into its back catalog for obscurities, particularly during acoustic tours, many songs have never been played live. Others may never be played again. "We will be playing some songs live that we have never attempted before, so in some ways, it's a tightrope walk for us. But, these songs are what we have done with our lives, so I accept the challenge and will try to not look down," says Douglas. Performing acoustically will transport many of those 100 songs back to their origins. "Most of our songs are written with acoustic guitars and voices in quiet, solitary rooms, so it will be nervy but exciting to bring that sound out of the backroom and into the light," says Douglas. According to Livingston, "touring with no rhythm section means you have to take your cues more from the vocal. You can bend time and create space for the emotion of the song to come through." With six full-length albums to their credit, starting with debut Cake in 1990, through last year's Wild Pendulum, the band has written and released just north of 100 songs. Over the course of the tour, they plan to play each one of those songs. "Now that we've reached a century of songs," says Reader, "it feels like a good time to meet up with them all again, like a high school reunion." He adds, "Those songs whose love and friendship we've nourished over the years will no doubt turn up most nights and show us why we've remained so close over the years, but it'll be most interesting to see how those with whom we've lost touch have aged." He expects that some songs will "turn up drunk and disheveled," while others "may now be dashing and distinguished, more so than we all would have guessed. I can't wait to meet them all again and find out." Thirty years on, this is a chance for the band to reflect on its past, take a look at the present and imagine where they might go next. Playing all of the songs they've written seems a good way of celebrating the journey so far. Come along early, join the band in celebration and see which songs the evening brings! Pegstar Presents: An Acoustic Evening With The Trashcan Sinatras Friday October 27, 2017 $20 adv, $25 DOS All Ages Doors: 8:00 PM Tickets Available at: http://www.stubwire.com/event/thetrashcansinatras/rudyards/houston/15912/

Winter Weekender Last Call 2017

November 10, 6:00p.m. - 2:00a.m.

Two Byrds Productions and Houston on the Map present Winter Weekender Last Call 2017 Friday November 10, 2017 Patriot, DDC, The Cops, Disowned, Lost City Souls Saturday November 11, 2017 Sheer Terror, Smart Boys, The Industry, Concrete Elite,Hooligan 45, Assault and Battery, Thug Boots Doors 6pm Tickets: $25 per day OR $35 for both days. Tickets Available at: http://twobyrdsproduction.com/merch ====Friday November 10, 2017==== Patriot (Chapel Hill, NC) https://www.facebook.com/patriotoi/ Patriot is a four piece Oi! band, first formed in October of 1990 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina (USA), a town known far more for its post-granola hippie and elitist alternative/indie music scene - not the most fertile soil to grow Oi! and streetpunk in, but as they say, "Spread enough shit around, and something's gotta grow." The original lineup consisted of Eddie Bastard, Gordon Sharkey, John Macneal, Joey Osment. About a year-and-a-half in, both John and Joey left the band. Brian Lawton jumped on board as the new bassist, and Chip Harris took over on the drums. This lineup remained as the band's longest-standing to date, and it was these members that were responsible for almost everything of significance that was written and recorded. Chip took a year off, citing personal reasons, and Jeff Morin filled in for him on drums. Chip later returned after an 8- or 10-month hiatus. In 1996, Jack Freeland joined on rhythm guitar, filling out that wall of sound and opening the doors to push the envelope of Patriot's music. Eventually, the band was plagued by "creative differences," and Brian Lawton ended up leaving in late '99. Brian "Deuce" (so-called as he was the second bassist in Patriot named Brian) took over and remained until the eventually split in October of 2000. A reunion at the 2004 Beer Olympics met with much enthusiasm and signaled plans of a return for Patriot. After 4 years of not being able to do shows because of lineup instability, Patriot is back and playing live again. East Coast Oi! Fest 2008 was the first show. DDC (Atlanta, GA) https://www.facebook.com/DrinkandDestroyCrew/ Founded in early 2011 as a four-piece with the intention of just playing the occasional show belting out hard hitting street punk they soon began playing regular shows in their hometown of Atlanta and throughout the Southeast. DDC delivers a special blend of street punk that includes elements of pop punk, Oi!, and hardcore. They've shared the stage with the Business, Fatskins, Old Firm Casuals, Patriot, Victory, 7Seconds, The Tossers, Gang Green, Hudson Falcons, Reno Divorce, and many others. In 2013 they released a six-song 10" EP on Vinyl4Bootboys and in 2014 will release a split 7" with Antagonizers ATL, a split EP with Assault & Battery, as well as appearing on various compilations. The Cops (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/THe-Cops-1176247895781584/ "There was a time when punk music didn’t make a statement, but it was more fun and politically incorrect. Acts like NoFX did kind of whatever they wanted while still dropping some quality punk records without apologizing for the sentiments expressed within their songs. Part of the aesthetic to punk music is to buck whatever the mainstream does, so it should come as no surprise that there’s a new punk band who is far from politically correct. Houston’s The Cops, featuring members of Talk Sick Brats, dress like police officers and sing songs from the cop’s point of view. Like the way KISS put on makeup and became the characters they portrayed, this four-piece dons police attire and become characters singing what you’d expect a cop to sing about. This year they dropped four singles that are tongue in cheek and far from serious, but they’re also some pretty solid punk jams that are catchy and hard to ignore." - Free Press Houston Disowned (Sorry no website available) Lost City Souls (Houston, TX) https://www.facebook.com/lostcitysouls/

Strong vocals broadcasted with huge choruses and gang sing-a-longs top off the 50’s–styled rock n roll delivery, a la Heartbreakers, Slade… Lyrical content ranging from delinquent juvenile yearnings to depression and joy, plus mobs of hooks, fun times, and Killer Rock N Roll!! The four guys and a girl that form Thug Boots might not look like your average Oi! band. But as proven on their previous release, the “Elite Breed” demo, this Houston, TX outfit knows how to put the boot in and they continue to grow stronger and stronger on their debut EP “The Justice”! I really like the sound of Thug Boots, because besides not looking like your average Oi! band, they don’t sound so either! Thug Boots has a real raw, hardcore-punk influenced bite to their sound that, as I already stated in my review of the demo, has a strong resemblance to their fellow Texans of CONCRETE.... ...if you are into bands like 86 Mentality, Semper Eadem, Negative Approach or Hired Goons you’ll be rockin’ the shit out of “The Justice” EP! After “Elite Breed” I wanted to hear more by these thugs and I am liking what I hear! Banger!"

December 8, 8:00p.m. - 2:00a.m.

Pale Waves (Manchester, UK) http://www.palewaves.co.uk/ "You’d be hard pressed to find a band with as much buzz around right now as Pale Waves. When they dropped their debut song, ‘There’s a Honey’ earlier this year, everyone wanted a slice of The 1975-produced newcomers. They later supported their collaborators on their gigantic US/European tour, playing at arenas across the globe. Not bad for a first single. Now, things are stepping up a notch as they share their second song, ‘Television Romance’. It is, as you’d expect, a shimmering, summer-tinged indie banger, one that will no doubt end up filling venues up and down the country when their next tour is announced. Opening with a swirling guitar riff, its the song’s heavenly chorus that allows the Manchester quartet to elevate into a league of their own. Even bigger things are on the horizon for this already outstanding band." - NME Friday December 08, 2017 Pegstar Presents Pale Waves All Ages, Doors 8pm Advance:$12 adv Day Of: $14 day Tickets Go On Sale: Friday Sep 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM Tickets Available at:https://www.stubwire.com/event/palewaves/rudyards/houston/16190/
