Bobby G Album Release Party

The Pub at Paula Brown Shop

September 30, 6:00p.m. - 9:00p.m.

Fresh off the release of his debut album, Blues man Bobby G will be performing at the Pub on Saturday, September 30. The band: Mike Odum on keys, Nick Wilson-guitar, Doug Miller drums, Dave Cerelli on bass More about Bobby G: After growing up on a plantation in Washington County, Mississippi, Bobby moved to Toledo as a teenager. He found work with the city as a garbage man and later as a machinery operator over the course of four decades. Along the way, Bobby cut his teeth in Toledo’s blues scene, performing at venues like The Green Lite, Anglers, Walnut Room and the Peacock as the lead singer for bands such as Creation of Soul, Big Boz Bluz, Curtis Jr. and the Midnight Rockers as well as his own band, Bobby G and Friendz. Fast forward to 2016, when Bobby hooked up with Henry, a local blues enthusiast who often hosts shows in the Waterville cigar shop. Henry, who was starting his own blues record label, Third Street Cigar Records, enlisted the writing services of renowned bluesman and friend Johnny Rawls to pen an album of songs for Bobby G. The result is Still Standing, a no-frills blues album recorded at Toledo School for the Arts featuring soulful, danceable tracks like the title cut, “Love Love Love,” “I Almost Love You” and “Party Man.”

The Vineyard House Wine Dinner

The Pub at Paula Brown Shop

October 18, 6:30p.m. - 9:30p.m.

Please join us for another exquisite evening of wine and food featuring The Vineyard House Winery and Cynthia's Catering. We will be joined by the owner of The Vineyard House, Jeremy Nickel, and Wine Trends rep Katelyn Murray. The link to purchase tickets and a detailed menu will be added shortly. Seating is limited, so check back soon! About The Vineyard House Winery: The Vineyard House is a small and intimate wine estate focused on producing exquisite cabernet sauvignon in the heart of Oakville. The Vineyard House (or TVH) was established in 2005 as a tribute to the life and legacy of my late father and hero- Gil Nickel-and although production is limited to less than 850 cases per vintage-10% of all proceeds go to cancer research in his name! Bestowed to me by my father, in the fall of 2003, the estate is situated on a fourty three-acre knoll at the entrance of the Halter valley (a secluded and picturesque sub-appellation in Oakville). The name Vineyard House was the commonly-used nickname (coined by the Jeremy Nickel family) to describe the charming white farmhouse that you see before you. The farmstead was built by prominent 19th century pioneer, William Baldridge, in the 1850's. My long term goal is to distinguish The Vineyard House as one of the "elite" Oakville wine estates producing "aspirational" Cabernet Sauvignon that is synonymous with exquisite quality, consistency, longevity, allure and rarity. I thank you for taking an interest in The Vineyard House wines and invite you to join in on the opportunity to acquire, appreciate, cellar and experience such a rare and age-worthy wine. Until we meet in person, may I offer the following toast... "Here is to honoring our parents and making them proud! Cheers." - Jeremy Justin Nickel https://www.tvhwines.com/
