We are very excited to bring you the first of it's kind event to the Capital Region beer drinking scene! LIC Beer Project will be setting up shop at Mohawk Taproom on Saturday, January 20th and bringing a BUNCH of fresh cans to sell to all of you Capital Region folks. There will be a KILLER draft list featuring amazing beers from LIC as well as food specials and giveaways. We and LIC are so excited to put this event on and give you easy access to their beers. It's going to be a great event and we hope you all come to hang out with us and the guys and gals from LIC! Exact beers and limits with pricing will be posted as soon as we have them. As you all know a couple years ago we started hosting nights where we feature beers from Craft Beer Guild Distributing as a way to say THANK YOU to them for taking such good care of us here at Mohawk Taproom. Well, we decided to do it again on February 15th at 5pm. We are going to have one of the best draft lists this area has ever seen. Below we have a list of kegs that we know we'll be tapping. We won't know what hop forward beers we are tapping until we get closer to the date of the event as we want to get you all the freshest hops available. CONFIRMED KEGS: The Bruery Mash & Coconut ABV 13.1% This is our classic bourbon barrel-aged barleywine ale, Mash, stretching to new levels. Mash & Coconut has coconut added – nearly 1 lb. per gallon, which ratchets up the complex coconut character and complements the oaky and vanilla notes that are imparted to the beer as part of its extensive maturation in bourbon barrels. The Bruery So Happens It's A Tuesday ABV 14% Our infamous Black Tuesday stout is named in honor of the great stock market crash of 1929. So Happens It’s Tuesday is similarly dark and delicious, but in a more affable format, reminding us that there is always a bit of good to be found within the bad. Things happen, life goes on. This beer can be enjoyed in all of those moments and seasons. Oxbow Infinite Darkness ABV 11.5% Russian Imperial stout aged in apple brandy barrels. Lagunitas Willett Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Stout ABV 11.7% Lagunitas was fortunate enough to get some of Willett's Bourbon barrels, and they put their Imperial Stout in them. Over at Kentucky’s own Willett Distillery they have one kind of barrel: wood. It’s a chocolatey, coffee-y, smoky, Bourbon-y beast of a barrel-aged thing. Word. Oskar Blues BA Ten Fidy ABV 12.9% Aged through four seasons and from a blend of the top Bourbons around, this Ten Fidy has morphed into a monster of cranked up flavor. Espresso, burnt sugar, rich chocolate, caramel notes are now driving alongside the vanilla, oak, bourbon from the barrel and been smoothed out during maturation. Even at 12.9% (75 IBUs) it is cool and drinkable, letting each sip add more and more complexity. Yazoo Cherry Deux Rouges ABV 6.2% Sour Red with tart cherries and dark sweet cherries aged in merlot barrels. GABF 2014 Medal winner. Only 2 kegs in NY. Plan Bee Barn Beer ABV 5.5% Juicy & satisfying. Dances between fruity/funky yeast & lemon/pine hop notes. Subtly tart, soft, & lemony. 1 of 5 kegs in Capital District. Stay tuned for a list of the IPA's and DIPA's we'll be tapping.....
